What will I learn?

This programme aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for understanding complex sustainability challenges, and managing sustainability issues in their daily work. Embodied in the aims and curriculum of the programme are the key vision and mission of the Centre, which emphasize the importance of cross-sector collaboration and collective action. Specifically, the programme focuses on building the capacity of actors in the public, business and social sectors to engage in dialogue and partnerships to develop innovative solutions to the challenges set out by the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

To be eligible for admission to the courses leading to a taught postgraduate qualification, a candidate: shall hold a Bachelor's degree of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): a score of 550 or above in the paper-based TOEFL; or a score of 213 or above in the computer-based TOEFL; or a score of 80 or above in the internet-based TOEFL; or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - A minimum overall band of 6 with no subtest lower than 5.5; or GCE (General Certificate of Education) - Grade C or above; or IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) - Grade C or above; or Cambridge Test of Proficiency in English Language - Grade C or above.

For international students

A Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with 2 years of work experience, or an equivalent qualification. Work experience can include internships and recognised project work and preferably full time. It is preferred that candidates have two or more years of related work experience in order to be more prepared for the demands of the programme. Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements may in exceptional circumstances be permitted to register if they demonstrate preparation for studies at this level and satisfy the examiners in a qualifying interview.

In addition to satisfying the requirements for admission to the curriculum concerned, an applicant who is seeking admission on the basis of a qualification from a university or comparable institution outside Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English is required to obtain one of the following examination result.

A. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
