What will I learn?

Programme Objectives:

  • To provide students with the latest advances in sports medicine and health science for their further career development.
  • To enable students to acquire in-depth and advanced knowledge in the specialized area of sports medicine and health science, aiming to strengthen their professional knowledge and improve professional competence.
  • To introduce participants with currently available diagnostic and assessment tools as well as therapeutic options in the management of sports injuries. For example, participants will be able to acquire comprehensive understanding of sports and soft tissue injuries, their causes, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.
  • To provide participants with the skills in evaluating health behaviors and risk factors, motivating athletes or individuals to modify negative health habits and maintain healthy lifestyle.
  • To create an environment for networking and experience sharing from professionals in different allied health disciplines to enhance multi-disciplinary understanding and collaboration.
  • To learn and exchange knowledge with overseas professionals.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must have a graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class; or graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B"; or completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honours degree. English Language Requirements: TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based)/79 (Internet-based); IELTS (Academic): 6.5; GMAT (Verbal): Band 21.

For international students

Applicants must satisfy one of the following:

  1. graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honors not lower than Second Class; or
  2. graduated from an honors programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B" ; or
  3. completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honors degree.

To fulfill the University’s minimum English language requirements for admission to postgraduate programmes, applicants should have:

obtained a degree from a university in Hong Kong or taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English; or

achieved scores in the following English Language tests2 as indicated:

  • TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based)/79 (Internet-based);
  • IELTS (Academic): 6.5;
  • GMAT (Verbal): Band 21; or

obtained a pass grade in other English language requirements equivalent to HKDSE or

obtained a recognized professional qualification, provided that the examination was conducted in English.
