The Department of Health Technology and Informatics is comprised of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography two well-established healthcare disciplines whose tertiary education has a long history of over 40 years in Hong Kong. The unique combination of these two healthcare disciplines in one department enables us to share expertise, complement each other and excel in both academic programmes and research.
Our research laboratories are equipped with advanced instruments for high-impact research work. In addition to working with researchers within the University, we also collaborate with top-notch scholars around the globe. We supervise research students by drawing expertise from within and outside the Department as appropriate.
Our PhD programme aims to provide rigorous training to students who aspire to become researchers or scholars capable of conducting independent and original research, and producing research findings that are relevant and significant to their chosen field of specialisation. The graduates will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform investigative work of substance with rigour and wit.
