What is the programme about?

This programme provides students with an increased level of understanding to become multi-skilled in the operation and maintenance of equipment used in Television production and broadcasting. The student’s ability to function as a member of a team is increased by the development, management and implementation of a major event, while a Final Year Project allows the student to showcase their individual abilities. This programme will move the student forward from a Higher Certificate to levels of proficiency and expertise of the broadcasting industry.

This programme acts as an additional year to the Level 6 Higher Certificate in Video & Sound Technology.

The overall purpose of the programme is to provide Video and Sound Technology graduates with a range of skillsets relevant to professional video, sound, television broadcasting and related careers. The programme is designed to develop the learner’s creative and technical ability to function as a member of a broadcast production team in a practical setting. The programme is ideal if you seek a career in technical operations in television.

Jobs Include

The Video & Sound programme aims to develop Technical Operators in broadcast television. Graduates have found work with national broadcasters, outside broadcast companies, independent television production companies, edit houses, radio stations, audio research facilities and more. Non-Broadcast careers include video & sound for gaming, web & mobile devices. The Video & Sound programme will give you the skills to work anywhere in the world.

An equivalent qualification to a Higher Certificate (Level 6) with appropriate pre-requisite subjects.
