What will I learn?

What is the programme about?

LIT's postgraduate qualifications in Quantity Surveying are the only courses of their type outside of Dublin. These programmes will enable you to practice as a Quantity Surveyor and to specialise in one of three aspects of the profession, namely; sustainable public building, sustainable civil engineering and sustainable mechanical & electrical engineering.

They provide entry points to the profession of Quantity Surveying, and are fully accredited by both the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

The MSc in Quantity Surveying satisfies the educational requirements to become a chartered quantity surveyor within one year.

Entry requirements

For international students

A primary degree in a built environment programme with a minimum award of Second Class Honour Grade 2. or

An appropriate professional built environment qualification (ie. Chartered membership of the SCS, EI, CIOB etc.) and at least 2 years relevant professional experience/responsibility. or

A primary degree and at least 5 years relevant professional responsibility and experience. or

Special Case Registrations: Prospective participants who do not meet the entry requirements for the programme detailed above, but who may qualify for admission by meeting certain other equivalent criteria, should apply to the Lifelong Learning Office for consideration.

IELTS score for entry to graduate courses a minimum score of 6.0
