Background
This program was initially offered in 1985. The main objective of this program is to produce graduates who are ethical and competent with skills and abilities in the field of accounting to meet the current development and needs of the country. The program is recognized under Schedule 1, Accountants Act 1967. Graduates of this program are eligible to register as members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, subject to three years of working experience as stipulated in Part IV of the Accountants Act 1967.
Job Opportunities
Employment opportunities for accounting graduates include various fields:
Professional field, as a qualified accountant, auditor, tax adviser, management consultant, company secretary and so on.
Industrial and trading sectors in the financial field of corporations, banks and other financial institutions that require accounting and finance expertise. For example as bankers, financial accountants, management accountants and Chief Financial Officers.
Public sector, such as in government departments and statutory bodies as accountants, internal auditors and others.

Applicant who is interested in pursuing his/ her studied at UPM must fulfill the following:
To have received a National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level or the equivalent of 12 years of basic education) with the grade 80% and above or
A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.
