Objectives of faculty

Institute of Advanced Technology aims to become an institute leading to advanced materials and nanotechnology as well as focusing on research, postgraduate studies and consulting services. The main objectives are as follows:

  • To undertake, coordinate and lead research in nanotechnology and advanced materials
  • To develop a competitive and competent researchers were able to produce high-quality research with the impression that outside the usual high commercial value
  • To perform as a center of knowledge and dissemination of innovative technology and create a network of cooperation with universities, laboratories and industry
  • To improve cooperation strategically among researchers in institutions of public and private in the whole world

Advanced Materials is designed to train students in the materials and processes fields, for the purpose of integrating them in high-tech and traditional technological industries or in materials research at advanced degree levels. This programme aims to prepare students with in-depth multidisciplinary knowledge, current issues and practices in the field of Advanced Materials, such as composites, ceramics, electronic materials, magnetic materials, smart materials, plastics and polymers.

Entry requirement for international students

Bachelor of Science or Engineering with a CGPA of at least 2.50 (Second Class Lower), or

Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering with CGPA 2.50 and of at least three (3) years working experience in relevant field.

For applicants with one of the following

550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or

Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training); or

79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or

Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre; or

Any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
