Summary

The Faculty's objective is to produce trained man power who are experts in the fields of language, literature and communication and able to contribute positively to fulfil the manpower needs and upgrade the quality of life in accordance with the development of the nation.

Introduction

The programme aims to equip candidates with in-depth knowledge of theories and practices relevant to the field of Malay Literature. In this programme, the candidate is exposed to the latest developments in Malay Literature in line with their research needs. The programme aims to train professionals from public and private sectors, lecturers from public and private institutions of higher learning, from within and outside the country to be specialists in the Malay Literature.

Full Time (Minimum of two years and a maximum of five years)

Tuition fees

1st semester: RM 5,862.50; 2nd-4th semesters: RM 4,112.50; 5th-6th semesters: RM 3,550; 7th and subsequent semesters: RM 3,900; Cost for max 4 years: RM 33,100; Cost for max 5 years: RM 40,900

Entry requirement for international students

Applicant must have a Master's Degree in Malay Literature or a related field from a recognized university.

Applicant who obtains a Master's Degree with a thesis is eligible to apply for this programme if they achieve a CGPA of 3.00.

Applicant who obtains a Master’s Degree without a thesis is eligible to apply for this programme if they achieve a CGPA of 3.50.

550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or

Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training); or

79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or

Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre
