What will I learn?

Theology offers you a variety of interesting topics in which you learn to think thoroughly about people, society and the christian faith. You will learn Greek, Hebrew and Latin to read texts in their source languages. You can also study this program on a part-time basis.

You are being challenged with subjects such as Church History, Patristics, Pastoral Theology, Philosophy, Psychology of Religion and Spirituality. In the second and third year you are enabled to deepen even more the objects of your interest by following a minor.

  • Your first year will give you a good overview of the various disciplines in theology. You’ll be introduced to the historical subjects in the fields of Biblical Studies, Philosophy, and the History of the Church and of Theology. In the second semester, you’ll be actively engaging with the thought of philosophers and theologians.
  • As from the second year, you will be looking more thoroughly at the subjects of the first year, and continue with the source languages. You also have the opportunity to specialize in your favorite subjects, by choosing electives from the programs offered by the TST or from other Schools or universities.
  • In the third year, you will study the subject areas in Theology in greater depth and write your bachelor thesis. It’s possible to take courses abroad. The School of Catholic Theology has various destinations that you can sign up to; most have grants.

Career prospects
