MSc Econometrics and Mathematical Economics is one of the programs with great career perspectives.

Large number of elective courses to customize your degree. For instance, you can specialize in pensions and the aging society. In the Net spar Honors Program, you learn how economic theories and models can be applied to create solutions for problems related to aging.

In the first semester of the regular program, ambitious students can also apply for the following advanced programs:

The Extended Master, which adds a half year traineeship to the regular master’s program.

The QTEM network program, which adds a full year to the regular master’s program which you will spend at a QTEM partner university and a corporate partner.

Upon graduating you will have obtained the following title (as stated on your diploma): Master of Science. With a Master’s in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics you have obtained an internationally-recognized degree and are able to pursue a career in a wide range of different organizations, such as government institutions, banks, insurance companies and research departments of large companies.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL with a minimum score of 575 (paper-based) / 233 (computer-based).

For international students

To be eligible for the Master’s program in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Econometrics or a similar qualification from a university recognized by the Admissions Committee.
  • A solid academic background in mathematics, statistics and econometrics and some knowledge of economics.
  • The GRE test is a compulsory qualitative admission requirement for this program
  • The minimum GRE score for applicants is 160 on the quantitative part of the test.

English language proficiency:

  • TOEFL (internet based) with a minimum score of 90 overall and a minimum score of 22 on individual parts of the test.
  • The TOEFL institutional code for Tilburg University is 9860.
  • Academic IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 overall and a minimum score of 6.0 on individual parts of the test.
  • Cambridge English test results: C1 advanced (formerly CAE) or C2 proficiency (formerly CPE). For both C1 and C2, we accept a score of A, B or C.
