The programme is designed to provide an optimal mix to ensure the realization of our goals in the field of knowledge dissemination and the training of academic, legal and practical skills. Within these parameters the programme offers some flexibility in the range of courses that can be chosen. The master's thesis allows you to spend considerable time to study a topic of your choice under the supervision of an experienced staff member.
Job prospects
There are opportunities in legal departments of international organizations or foreign ministries, but also in many national governmental institutions and ministries, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, internationally operating enterprises and academic institutions, be it in the field of trade & investment, environment, energy, or human rights. In larger law firms and legal companies expertise in public international law is relevant for international cases and arbitrations.

Grade average: On top of providing the Admissions Board with transcripts and diplomas, students should have an equivalent minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 7/10 (Dutch grading scale).
knowledge minimum: basic knowledge of public international law, on a similar level as the course Public International Law and elementary knowledge of European Law
Native speakers of English may request exemption from providing proof of proficiency. Otherwise you will need to provide proof of English language proficiency:
TOEFL: 100 (all sections need to be at least 21; the writing section needs to be at least 23)
IELTS: 7 (all sections need to be at least 6.0; the writing section needs to be at least 6.5)
Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English);
Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English)
Applicants who are taking/have completed an English-taught bachelor programme at a Dutch research university may be exempt from taking an English proficiency test.
