Our programme in Business Administration is designed to impart you with the skills to design and implement organisational strategies and structures with the aim to create social and economic value. The focus is on responsible organisations which emphasises ways in which organisations interact with multiple stakeholders to perform sustainably. Within the Master's Business Administration, you have a choice between eight Master's specialisations.
Do you want to learn how to apply formal methods and modelling, focusing on both the analytical and the social aspects of decision making? During this Master's specialisation you will gain the skills and academic knowledge required to become a specialist in developing sound simulation models that are valuable when designing and evaluating strategies.
Master's specialisation Business Analysis and Modelling: something for you?
This specialisation combines system dynamics (analysis) with group model building (facilitation).
You will learn how to apply analysis in a social setting: communicating results, facilitating group sessions, creating consensus and commitment.
We emphasise the importance and advantages of corporate social responsibility.
We look beyond the private sector, also giving examples how business analysis can be applied in issues in the (semi-)public sector.
What will you learn?
In the Master’s specialisation in Business Analysis and Modelling, you will learn about the role of formal modelling and computer simulation for organisational decision-making. You will become a specialist in developing sound simulation models that are valuable when designing and evaluating strategies. Besides that, you will gain understanding in what hinders effective problem solving and implementation of solutions in organisations. The Master's also teaches you the basic terms and concepts of game theory and related decision analysis methods. You will also learn about the individual and social ‘biases and heuristics' leading to suboptimal or even low quality decision-making.
Master's specialisation in Business Analysis and Modelling
After graduating, most Business Analysis and Modelling students find employment at advisory bureaus or the strategic planning departments of large companies. Some are self-employed and run their own businesses, mostly in the area of consulting. A few go on to do a traineeship or pursue a PhD in Business Administration.
