What will I learn?

The Master in Business Informatics combines theory, methods, and techniques from business and organisational science with the tools and practices of information and computing science. Our interdisciplinary approach addresses key issues faced by organizations and business managers across the globe.

Successfully aligning ICT with an organisation’s business processes requires both technological and managerial insight. In this programme you can specialise in one of the following four career areas:

ICT Researcher (PhD) - Prepares for a career as a scientist and focuses on researching innovations in information science.

Analyst - Prepares for a career as a consultant who provides advice or services on business matters related to ICT, or on ICT matters related to business.

Entrepreneur - Prepares for a career as an independent entrepreneur who develops ICT products.

The integrative and multidisciplinary approach of the Master’s programme in Business Informatics is oriented towards the needs of future or current researchers, consultants, managers, and entrepreneurs in the field of ICT.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants will be considered for admission to the Research Master’s programme in Religious Studies if you can demonstrate the following knowledge, insight, and skills: A relevant Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in the humanities or in one of the social sciences; Proven interest in Religious Studies, as evidenced in a minimum of 30 EC in a relevant field at the Bachelor’s level; Knowledge of basic concepts in Religious Studies and insight into relevant methods; A high standard of academic achievement, as evidenced in an overall grade point average and a Bachelor’s thesis grade equaling “good” or better in the applicable national system. (Typically, Dutch grade 7.5; US grade B; ECTS grade C.) English language requirements: ELTS, Academic Module. Minimum score: 6.5 overall band, at least 6 for writing. TOEFL, iBT. Minimum score: 93 with at least 24 reading, 22 listening, 20 speaking, 17 writing (internet-based test), institutional scores are not accepted. Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English, at least a B grade. Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, at least a C grade.

For international students

Applicants are eligible to enter the programme when they have:

solid basic knowledge in the field of information and computing sciences (including programming languages, data models, exchange languages, and object-oriented modelling);
solid basic knowledge of research methods;
solid basic knowledge of organisation science;
the ability to communicate facts and findings verbally and in writing, and also using information and communication technology and audio-visual means;
basic knowledge of product software development, delivery, implementation, and use; and
basic knowledge of design methods and modelling.
Applicants are therefore expected to hold one of the following degrees:
BSc in Information Science
BSc in Computer Science
BSc in another science (with specific prerequisites)
professional Bachelor in ICT, or an HBO or HIO diploma.

Other English language requirements: Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English, at least a B grade; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, at least a C grade.
