People have ever more choices in the things they buy. Reaching customers in such a competitive environment has become an art in its own right, requiring not just navigating a milieu of competing products and services but also the sheer volume of digital distractions. Strategic Marketing responds to this challenge by placing marketing management, innovation development, and marketing analytics in the context of building and maintaining customer relationships in the information age. All the while the stress of the programme is on creating real value for customers as an essential part of that relationship.
A strategic marketer is a people-person, literally and figuratively: you must build relationships with customers and reach them on an emotional level. You should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team. A successful strategic marketer also has the ability to look at old problems in a new way, meaning that you should be flexible and willing to try new approaches. Though you should ideally have previous experience in statistics and/or psychology, this is not essential to be a success in the programme.
In the master programme, fundamental theoretical insights will be validated in state-of-the-art managerial contexts. Therefore, we welcome students who are open to acquiring sound academic knowledge and methodological training and who are willing to test these insights in small or large projects, case studies or real-life applications.
