What will I learn?

The MSc International Financial Management (IFM) focuses on the different aspects of financial management in an international business environment. This programme equips you with knowledge, understanding and skills required to define, analyse and evaluate real and complex international financial management problems on both a societal level as well as on the level of companies and institutions and to design solutions for these problems. You will gain advanced academic knowledge of theoretical concepts in (international) financial management and you will be able to apply research methods and become a financial manager in an international firm or organisation.

These days internationally oriented firms and organisations do not merely need financial specialists who are acquainted with the latest finance and risk management tools and techniques. They are looking for professionals who can use these tools and techniques for managing information and business resources.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must have Bachelor's degree. Additional requirements English: A VWO diploma or a subject certificate for VWO English (mark 6 or higher), minimum requirement of TOEFL iBT 90 (with a minimum of 21 on all items), or IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6 on all items). Language Centre English Test (LCET) level C1 (B2 for no more than two components). Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of 180.

For international students

To be eligible for admission to this Master, you need to hold an academic Bachelor's or Master's degree from a research university in one of the following - or closely related - fields: Business Economics, Business Administration, Economics and Business Economics, International Business, Technology Management.

IELTS Academic overall score 6.5 (Speaking 6, Writing 6.5); TOEFL internet-based overall score 90 (Speaking 20, Writing 24); C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency (with minimum score 180); University of Groningen Language Centre Test (Speaking B2, Writing C1).
