What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Science with Honours degree is made up of one full-time year of coursework that includes a research component. Subject areas range from Astronomy to Statistics, and you may complete the programme in two subjects if desired (combined honours). For more information about why you should consider studying a postgraduate Science programme at UC, see the Postgraduate Prospectus. Physics explores the behaviour between matter and energy - from subatomic particles to the scale of the universe. Technology and physics go hand-in-hand, and they improve our lives massively. From computers, architecture to agriculture, modern life is built using the understanding of physics. Studying this field will prepare you to contribute to major advances in technology now and in the future. Study Involve: Lab experiments, fieldwork, and computing skills in our state-of-the-art facilities including a nano lab, super conduction magnet lab, cloud chamber, and cryogenics lab. UC has contributed much to the field with alumnus like Ernest Rutherford and Beatrice Tinsley, with current research including Medical Physics, Nanotechnology, and Cosmology.
