With a Master of Public Management you’ll become a more effective public manager and build your ability to influence the strategic and operational direction of public-sector organisations. Learn about governance and public-sector reform, and how to manage budgets, finances, and organisational capital.

Gain the knowledge and skills to design and implement innovative and effective programmes and services, including planning, service delivery, and monitoring and evaluation.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be accepted into this programme you will need to meet:

A Bachelor's degree

At least two years of professional work experience within the public service such as government, not-for-profit groups, iwi, and public sector service providers

To be accepted by the academic programme leader as capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study

Proof of English proficiency

To be accepted into this programme you will need to meet one of the following:

IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0

TOEFL: minimum score of 90 for the internet-based test with a minimum of 20 in writing

Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 58 (with a ‘Communicative’ score of not less than 50)

EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,5,5
