What will I learn?

Enter into the highly employable world of surveying and geospatial science, and youll enjoy a varied and outdoorsy career which involves interacting regularly with other businesses and sectors. Surveyors have to be skilled in both measurement and resource management. They collect and analyse information about land, water and other natural resources, and help manage our environment by mapping the earth and the sea floor, establishing property boundaries, and providing accurate data for engineering works. The New Zealand Diploma in Surveying will develop your knowledge and skills in a wide range of topics including - Geodetic surveying, Cadastral surveying, Engineering surveying, Mapping, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Satellite navigation systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data management and land administration

Entry requirements

For international students

You will need the following:

1. 48 credits at NCEA Level 2 in four different subjects including:

12 credits in Mathematics (preferably in algebra, geometry and trigonometry) or equivalent
8 credits in English (4 in reading, 4 in writing)

High levels of oral, written and interpersonal communications and mathematical skills are required to complete this programme.

English Language Requirements: IELTS test: Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5. TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42; Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill. OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests. NZCEL - Level 4 (Academic). Language Cert - C1 Expert International ESOL Written (LRW) PASS with no less than 25/50 in each skill and Spoken (S) PASS.
