What will I learn?

This programme will prepare students for a career in the high-tech domain of aerospace electronics. Students will learn the various aircraft instrument systems, the intricate electrical systems that make flying possible. Students will gain first-hand experience in handling flight instruments and controls found in the aircraft cockpit as well as the auto-flight, communication and navigation systems, and aircraft maintenance practices that keep an aircraft safe during flight. Students who complete this programme will be trained in the fundamentals of aerospace avionics, including aircraft electrical systems, instrumentation, and avionics; be familiar with industry standards and requirements of avionics system; and embark on the pathway to becoming a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer. Graduates can look forward to excellent prospects in the aerospace and electronics industry. Within Singapore, there are potential employment opportunities in the MRO sector, as well as the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft flight components. Some job roles include Licensed Aircraft engineer(B2); airforce engineer; pilot; avionics system specialist; avionics engineer; avionics test equipment engineer; assistant engineer; associate engineer; engineering assistant; engineer (avionics). Graduates may also choose the advanced standing in local and overseas universities. Pursue avionics-specific degree programmes locally at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Singapore Institute of Management University (UniSIM) or at any of the overseas universities such as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA) and Queensland University of Technology (Australia).

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-7, mathematics (elementary/advanced) with grades 1-6, any one of the following subjects: with grades 1-6; aggregate type (ELR2B2-C); NITEC holders must have completed subjects with GPA equal to 3.5; higher NITEC holders must have completed subjects with GPA equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for 3 other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
