What will I learn?

This programme will prepare students for a career in the high-tech domain of aerospace electronics. Students will learn the various aircraft instrument systems, the intricate electrical systems that make flying possible. Students will gain first-hand experience in handling flight instruments and controls found in the aircraft cockpit as well as the auto-flight, communication and navigation systems, and aircraft maintenance practices that keep an aircraft safe during flight. Students who complete this programme will be trained in the fundamentals of aerospace avionics, including aircraft electrical systems, instrumentation, and avionics; be familiar with industry standards and requirements of avionics system; and embark on the pathway to becoming a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer. Graduates can look forward to excellent prospects in the aerospace and electronics industry. Within Singapore, there are potential employment opportunities in the MRO sector, as well as the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft flight components. Some job roles include Licensed Aircraft engineer(B2); airforce engineer; pilot; avionics system specialist; avionics engineer; avionics test equipment engineer; assistant engineer; associate engineer; engineering assistant; engineer (avionics). Graduates may also choose the advanced standing in local and overseas universities. Pursue avionics-specific degree programmes locally at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Singapore Institute of Management University (UniSIM) or at any of the overseas universities such as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA) and Queensland University of Technology (Australia).
