What will I learn?

Animation represents the integration of art and technology.

Animated sequences in feature films and television, digital special effects, animated simulation rides, education, games and interactive media are some of the more visible applications of animation. As practitioners in this innovative and dynamic field, you will need the skills to demonstrate a good understanding of both the creative and the technical processes involved.

This programme will develop in you an interdisciplinary way of thinking that transcends the art/ technology divide. It will mould you into a well-rounded professional with broad-based animation skills and an in-depth understanding of the field.

The Diploma is offered as a full time programme over three years and is divided into three levels, which correspond to each academic year of the programme. The academic year is divided into two semesters of thirteen weeks with two additional Assessment Weeks [Week 14 and 15]. There will be 120 credits for each year of study and successful Diploma graduates must gain a total of 360 credits points to earn the Diploma.

Diploma programmes span three levels, where your technical and vocational skills as well as competence and knowledge will be developed to ensure you are industry-ready. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded with a Diploma certificate. Thereafter, exceptional Diploma graduates may apply to enter Level 2 of a LASALLE BA(Hons) programme within the same discipline.
