What will I learn?

This is a design-cum-technological programme that adopts a unique project-based learning approach, to develop you into an investigative design innovator equipped with a knowledge of the latest building technologies.

SP graduates with a Diploma in Architecture can be employed in:

Architectural consulting firms,
Government agencies like the Building & Construction
Authority, Housing & Development Board, Urban Redevelopment Authority,
Organisations related to the building industry,
Large firms in other fields with their own in-house architectural division,
Companies providing creative services such as computer graphics
and animation design.

You could be:

An architectural assistant to render support in design development,
documentation and presentation,
An architectural technologist to assist in technical aspects
supporting micro design and detailing,
A sales executive or coordinator in companies involved in building materials/finishes
or architectural products
An architectural co-ordinator on building sites
A designer in graphics and other creative services
A designer in a computer graphics firm supporting architectural services


Our graduates have gained direct entry into the second or third year of degree courses in architecture in both local and overseas universities.A number of our outstanding graduates have also been awarded scholarships locally as well as overseas.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have obtained the following qualification: GCE 'O' Levels, relevant Institute of Technical Education Higher NITEC (ITC/CBS) qualifications, or relevant Institute of Technical Education NITEC (NTC2) qualifications (with minimum GCE 'N' Level qualifications). A 'B' average overall would be minimally sufficient for candidates to make a competitive application. those from Integrated Programme (IP) Schools in Singapore who have completed the equivalent of Sec 4 as well as those who have graduated from IP schools can be considered for admission; eligibility is similar to GCE 'O' level; for those who have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the entry requirements are minimum Grade 4 for English (1st Lang) except for Creative Writing for Television and New Media and Media and Communication courses where a Grade 5 (1st Lang) is required, minimum Grade 5 for Mathematics, minimum Grade 5 for relevant subject, overall aggregate should be at least 22 (based on 5 subjects including English, Mathematics and relevant subject); or equivalent qualification. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also they must fulfill the following English language requirements: TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based); or IELTS (International English Language Testing System - overall minimum 6.0; for China qualifications 6.0 is also required for reading and speaking components), or passes English language entrance test.
