The Diploma in Banking & Financial Services (BFS) provides you with a broad-based knowledge of financial accounting, banking and financial services, economics and risk management. You will gain an understanding of how financial institutions operate and how banking and financial principles are applied in the real world.

As a BFS graduate, you will enjoy accreditation and module exemptions from local and foreign universities as well as professional bodies.

BFS graduates can find good career opportunities in fields such as credit and marketing, corporate finance, financial planning, investment and wealth management, trade finance, treasury, risk management, as well as settlements and operations management.

The BFS diploma is recognised by all local universities and many overseas universities. Many universities in Australia and the United Kingdom grant at least one year’s exemption, which means you can complete your degree programme faster.

Professional bodies like the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Institute of Banking & Finance (IBF) and the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) also recognise our diploma. For industry-linked certification, you will be exempted from one module of the Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) examinations.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students from Singapore must have completed International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) qualification attained in Singapore school system. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also they must have scored 'A's and 'B's or above 75 per cent for all core subjects to stand a higher chance of being shortlisted. They should obtain good grades in English, mathematics, two other subjects and a relevant subject for the course they are applying for.
