What will I learn?

The Diploma in Design for User Experience (DDUX) uncovers how great designs can enhance the user experience in profound and delightful ways. The programme is designed to equip you with highly transferable design skills to work in a variety of industries that require the ability to apply user-centred design knowledge in product, service, and spatial designs.

Students will acquire the ability to create user interfaces that are sophisticated, intuitive, and a pleasure to use, and gain insights into how human-centred designs maximize interactivity.

Hands-on training to develop design thinking capabilities and hone practical design skills is an integral part of your learning experience. In addition, relevant industry attachment with design companies or organizations with design divisions allows you to gain real-world experience.

Course Outcomes:

  • Understand interaction design and user experience, the interactive nature of design thinking, and the design process
  • Build knowledge in the areas of service, spatial and product design, architecture, and tangible interaction
  • Develop skills in user-centred design, inclusive and sustainable design, ethnographic and user research, wire-framing, prototyping, usability testing, and design thinking
  • Undergo a 16-week industry attachment programme with organisations such as Ogilvy One Singapore, Ong & Ong and UX Consulting

Career Opportunities:

DDUX graduates can look forward to joining design teams in global technology companies strong in design culture, such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Philips, and Samsung.
