What will I learn?

This Programme will learn how to influence peoples’ behaviour through modules such as health psychology, behaviour change using knowledge in nutrition, and exercise fundamentals. Some of the challenges that await you as a practitioner of health and wellness include youth obesity, active ageing, and workplace wellness.

Students will take regular field trips, undertake practical work experience, and contribute to projects to help prepare you for a fulfilling career as a health professional in a workplace such as a hospital, school, or government agency.

  • Gain a solid grounding in subjects such as psychology, human behaviour, physical activity, and nutrition
  • Acquire the expertise to plan, organise, and conduct health-related events in the community
  • Develop skills to conduct health and fitness assessments
  • Learn to apply techniques for behavioural change and health promotion strategies
  • Undergo a 16-week industry attachment programme with an established organization such as the Health Promotion Board, Council for Third Age, Alliance Healthcare, or Dayspring Corporate Wellness

DHMP graduates can look forward to fulfilling careers in public health departments, healthcare and community-based organizations, corporate staff wellness divisions, and schools. Some of the positions include:

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-7, mathematics (Elementary/Additional) with grades 1-6, any one of the following subjects: with grades 1-6; aggregate type (ELR2B2-C); NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; Higher NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for three other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
