What will I learn?

This programme will equip students with the skills and knowledge covering all areas of event management, including conceptualization, marketing and sales, coordination, and execution of different events. Modules such as Project Management and Scheduling, Event Operations Management, and Exhibition Management will help you unravel the secrets to inspiring events. Students can expect plenty of hands-on training through attachments to high-profile events and internships with companies such as Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, Experia Events Pte Ltd, Globewerks International Pte Ltd, Singex Venues Pte Ltd and Wildlife Reserves Singapore. Through SOH’s collaboration with The Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers (SACEOS), second-year DIEM students are mentored by key industry partners in real work settings where they will be ready to contribute to the industry upon graduation. This valuable real-world experience will give you a head start in building a successful career in event management. Students Learn to conceptualize, plan and execute memorable events such as exhibitions, concerts and summits; acquire knowledge and skills related to hospitality and tourism management, and event sales and marketing management; and develop skills in theme park and attraction management and operations; and undergo 24-week Industry Immersion Programme with companies involved in event, venue, or attraction management.

DIEM graduates are well prepared to pursue careers in event and project management across a wide range of industries. Students will be able to take on challenging roles such as:

  • Event Coordinator/Executive/Planner
  • Event Entrepreneur
  • Project Manager.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-6, mathematics (Elementary/Additional) with grades 1-6, any three other subjects (to be eligible for admission, they must also have sat for one subject for the ELR2B2-B aggregate type) with grades 1-6; NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; higher NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for 3 other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
