What will I learn?

This programme puts students on track to help meet these challenges in marine conservation and oceanography. They will learn about topics such as aquatic species, production systems, farm operations, managing marine and aquatic health. The programmer’s hands-on approach will help students to understand, protect, and manage diverse marine ecosystems as they get up close with all sorts of aquatic life. Students will also have opportunities to learn from teachers who are experts in their fields and experience real-world challenges at work attachments through a wide range of marine and aquaculture–related industries and research institutes. At the end of the course students will be able to develop skills and knowledge to help conserve marine ecosystems and ensure a sustainable supply of food fish; learn to use advanced technology to support the design and setup of aquaculture facilities; and work amongst fishes, manatees, dolphins, and other aquatic animals. DMAC graduates in fisheries, oceanariums, marine parks and reserves, research institutes, and government agencies. Then able to pursue opportunities in roles such as: aquaculture laboratory assistant; aquarist; marine conservation executive; marine facility manager; production technologist; and regulatory officer.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grade 1-7; mathematics (elementary/advanced) with grade 1-6; and any one of the following subjects with grades 1-6. NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; Higher NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for 3 other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
