What will I learn?

In this course students will learn about technological advances in materials science and engineering that transforms the world in the aerospace, marine, automobile, sports and construction industries. Be equipped with knowledge of 3-D printing, additive manufacturing, advanced composites and nanotechnology that allows you to venture into the promising future of technology. Explore the world at the atomic, molecular, crystalline, microscopic, and macroscopic levels, Learn to use advanced characterization equipment and processing techniques in RP’s state-of-the-art laboratories, Develop advanced skills and learn techniques that will allow you to understand and manipulate the unique characteristics of different materials. DMTS graduates are well prepared for careers with world-class organizations in a variety of industries, such as the aerospace and automotive sectors. Some of the positions that you could fill includes: aerospace industrial specialist; assistant engineer; assistant manufacturing engineer; laboratory technologist; quality assurance specialist; semiconductor industrial specialist. DMTS has strong articulation with local and overseas universities where our graduates have a wide range of choices to choose for further education such as Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS).

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-7, mathematics (elementary/advanced) with grades 1-6, any one of the following subjects with grades 1-6: additional combined science, additional science, biology, chemistry, combined science, computer studies, creative 3-d animation, design and technology, engineering science, food and nutrition, fundamentals of electronics, general science, human and social biology, integrated science, physical science, physics, science (chemistry, biology), science (physics, biology), science (physics, chemistry), science (physics, chemistry, biology); aggregate type (ELR2B2-C); NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; higher NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 2.0.Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for 3 other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
