What will I learn?

The course equip you with knowledge in mechanical engineering, electronics and programming. The multi-disciplinary course will enable you to meet the rising demands for skilled manpower in the design and development of high-tech modern consumer devices such as smartphones, laptops or even aircraft engines.

The course allows you to diversify into other engineering fields. Exciting career paths in multiple fields ranging from government, aerospace, medical, military, entertainment to consumer product industries. You will be exposed to real and relevant work experience and engaging projects with reputable organisations such as the Singapore University of Technology and Design.

DMRO graduates will meet the rising demands for multi-disciplinary manpower by industries whose business is in the design, development and production of high-tech modern consumer devices such as mobile phones, laptops, health and entertainment gadgets, or industrial equipment such as aircraft engines or hi-tech machinery. DMRO graduates can consider the following career options:

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have obtained the following qualification: GCE 'O' Levels, relevant Institute of Technical Education Higher NITEC (ITC/CBS) qualifications, or relevant Institute of Technical Education NITEC (NTC2) qualifications (with minimum GCE 'N' Level qualifications). A 'B' average overall would be minimally sufficient for candidates to make a competitive application. those from Integrated Programme (IP) Schools in Singapore who have completed the equivalent of Sec 4 as well as those who have graduated from IP schools can be considered for admission; eligibility is similar to GCE 'O' level; for those who have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the entry requirements are minimum Grade 4 for English (1st Lang) except for Creative Writing for Television and New Media and Media and Communication courses where a Grade 5 (1st Lang) is required, minimum Grade 5 for Mathematics, minimum Grade 5 for relevant subject, overall aggregate should be at least 22 (based on 5 subjects including English, Mathematics and relevant subject); or equivalent qualification. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also they must fulfill the following English language requirements: TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based); or IELTS (International English Language Testing System - overall minimum 6.0; for China qualifications 6.0 is also required for reading and speaking components), or passes English language entrance test.
