What will I learn?

The Diploma in Media Production and Design (DMPD) unveils the expertise required to navigate the constantly evolving media landscape. The programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to be an effective content producer for various platforms ̶ from conventional print-based media to digital and internet-based experiences.

Get ready for a dynamic programme and expect plenty of hands-on training as you learn techniques in media production and design to develop a portfolio of original works. In addition, industry attachment with production companies, advertising and design agencies, and public-sector organizations allows you to gain valuable real-world experience.

Course Outcomes:

  • Gain graphic design expertise and learn techniques covering various formats and genres in both single-camera and multi-camera production
  • Create visual works for mobile and screen-based devices, print, social networking platforms, television, and websites and build a strong online portfolio of original works
  • Acquire essential skills to tell a good story, communicate clearly with words and images, and persuade an audience effectively
  • Undergo a 16-week Industry Immersion Programme with organisations such as MediaCorp, Oak3 Films, Singapore Press Holdings, and Up BrandBuzz

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-6, mathematics (elementary/advanced) with grades 1-7, any one of the following subjects: with grades 1-6; aggregate type (ELR2B2-D); NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; Higher NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for 3 other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
