What will I learn?

Adventure enthusiasts will love the opportunity to build their confidence, leadership skills and industry experience through internships and overseas trips to outdoor centres in Australia and Hong Kong.

  • Develop leadership skills to lead and manage outdoor activities confidently and independently
  • Learn the tools, techniques, and strategies required to create outdoor learning programmes
  • Understand the needs of the outdoor and adventure industry
  • Undergo a 16-week industry attachment programme with a local or overseas organization such as Camelot, Camp Challenge, Outward Bound Singapore, Outward Bound Hong Kong, Outward Bound Taiwan, or Somers School Camp in Australia

DOAL graduates are well prepared to take up roles in schools, Outward Bound centres, and reputable outdoor training companies. Some other roles you can look forward to are:

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-6, mathematics (elementary/advanced) with grades 1-6, any three other subjects (to be eligible for admission, they must also have sat for one subject for the ELR2B2-B Aggregate Type) with grades 1-6; aggregate type (ELR2B2-C); NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; Higher NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for three other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
