What will I learn?

This course will equip students with knowledge in diverse areas of sports and exercise, such as psychology, physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, and prescription. We have a world-class sports science lab with industry-standard facilities to train you in the latest technology and prepare you for a thriving career in the sports, fitness, wellness, and health sectors.

With an expanding health industry and Singapore’s goal of becoming a top sporting nation, there are companies awaiting your expertise, such as Sport Singapore, Pilates Fitness and Certis CISCO.

  • Gain knowledge in the multidisciplinary areas of sports and exercise science
  • Acquire practical sports science skills to meet the needs of the sports, fitness, wellness, and health industries
  • Develop skills in laboratory/field testing procedures to assess and enhance the performance of athletes
  • Learn good practices in injury management and sports safety
  • Undergo a 16-week industry attachment programme with a national sports association or established private organization such as Singapore Athletic Association, Football Association of Singapore, New Balance or Amore Fitness

DSES graduates are well-prepared to explore job opportunities in the sports, fitness, wellness, and health industries. These include fitness centres and specialist gyms, sports retail shops, sports associations, and sports institutions. Some careers our graduates have carved out include:

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: O-level holders must have English language with grades 1-7, mathematics (Elementary/Additional) with grades 1-6, any one of the following subjects: with grades 1-6; aggregate type (ELR2B2-C); NITEC holders must have subjects with GPA greater than equal to 3.5; Higher NITEC holders must have subjects greater than equal to 2.0. Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements: A-level holders must have the obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium), obtain an A-E grade for three other H2 subjects, and must have taken GCE 'A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore.
