What will I learn?

Special curriculum includes out-of-classroom learning such as wine & cheese appreciation workshops

With exciting theme parks, glitzy integrated resorts, and world-class retail and hotel facilities, Singapore is now the destination of choice for many tourists who come to Asia.

The Diploma in Tourism & Resort Management (TRM) prepares you for a career in key sectors of the tourism industry such as attractions, food and beverage, hospitality, tourism-related retail and travel. You will also learn about managing mega events under MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions), and business aspects of the leisure and lifestyle industry.

Valuable hands-on learning sessions and internships round off your industry knowledge and offer you even wider career choices upon graduation.

Luxury cruise liners, theme parks and five star resorts – these are just some of the “classrooms” you get to learn in. And we are not just talking about Singapore – you can count global tourism hotspots like Paris, London, Taiwan, Japan and Australia’s Gold Coast among your learning destinations.

Special Curriculum

As a TRM student, you will get acquainted with the finer points of wining and dining, arts, culture, golf, and personal grooming with lifestyle appreciation workshops. TRM provides you with a strong business foundation that features a global and entrepreneurial focus.

Careers

As Singapore develops into a global tourism destination, the demand for well-trained hotel and resort professionals will continue to increase. TRM graduates can find many job openings in the MICE, hospitality, travel, food and beverage, and other tourism-related sectors. You could hold a management position in sales and marketing, operations, promotions, public relations, consultancy or customer service.

Further studies

As a TRM graduate, you can pursue a wide range of degree courses at all local universities and several overseas universities. These institutions may grant at least one year's exemption.

They include Australian universities such as Southern Cross University, University of Queensland, University of Southern Queensland and University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
