Research-based programme is one in which higher degrees are awarded based on supervised or mentored research work of an approved topic, culminating in the submission of a thesis. Besides the research projects, all candidates must read and pass 4 compulsory graduate level modules whilst doctorate candidates must read and pass 2 additional elective modules. Students may enroll as full-time or part-time candidates for these degrees.

A Good Master’s degree in relevant discipline
Candidate with a Second Class Upper Honors degree (CAP 4.0 to 4.49) or equivalent in a relevant discipline may also be admitted directly into a PhD program at the discretion of the Faculty
Students with locally or internationally accredited BDS, DDS and MBBS degrees may be admitted directly into the PhD programme. Candidate being thus admitted is required to take the PhD Qualifying Exam within 18 months from the registration date.
English Language Requirements: TOEFL min 580 (paper-based score); min 237 (computer-based score); min 85 (internet-based score); IELTS result of 6.0 is required.
