What will I learn?

Studying for a PhD or MSc at NUS Pharmacy can be a very rewarding and exciting experience. It is a dedicated, unique, individual contribution to human health and wellness. Each student’s contributions are different. It provides an opportunity to explore ideas, seek novelty, find better solutions, whether these are connected with scientific methodologies or technical approaches or creative pursuits. Most will undertake the PhD or MSc to work towards a career in academia or research or management. The graduate research experience enhances critical thinking and sharpens analytical acumen to face the challenges of our changing world.

The graduate programme includes taking a number of prescribed modules in the same or related field of research. This provides a graduate level foundation and prepares the student for research work. Students also take time to attend and participate in seminars where current research is presented by their peers, staff or visitors.

The research work which forms the largest single component of the graduate research programme culminate in a thesis which is examined in its written form and in an oral presentation before a panel of examiners.
