The PhD programme of the Strategy, International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIE) Division is designed for students who wish to study and do research in strategic management, international business and/or entrepreneurship. Our programme is designed to provide rigorous training in theoretical foundations and research methodologies. Doctoral students are assigned a mentor and required to take compulsory courses in the first year of our programme, which includes econometrics, organization theory, and strategic management. We also provide teaching practicum to develop essential pedagogical skills to independently teach an undergraduate seminar.

Our faculty members​have built a reputation for quality research and are equipped to be doctoral student supervisors. We have published in major journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Management Science, Organization Science, and Journal of Applied Psychology. Our faculty also serves as reviewers or associate editors for several of these journals. We encourage interactions with faculty members to produce joint publications in major journals and presentations at top international conferences. We also host regular seminar sessions with renowned professors to further enrich interactions with leading scholars in their fields.

We look for talented individuals who are motivated to excel and pursue an academic career in research and education. Applicants to our programme are expected to have a strong quantitative background.​
