What will I learn?

Overview

The GLB allows students who have completed an undergraduate degree (or higher) in another discipline to complete a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in three instead of four years. The programme helps to inject multidisciplinary expertise into the legal profession, which increasingly requires more sophisticated and technical knowledge in many areas. Students must complete a minimum total of 120 credits.

Curriculum

The compulsory modules are taught during the first two years. One module is taught in the third or fourth year. We aim to

  • give an understanding of the basic law modules and general principles;
  • provide training in the basic skills essential for every lawyer, including analysis, research, writing, advocacy and problem-solving; and
  • give an appreciation of the role of law and lawyers in their own society and in the global community to better equip a lawyer to deal with the challenges of globalization.
