What will I learn?

The Master of Science (Offshore Technology) is jointly hosted by the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and is administered by the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. It offers a comprehensive coverage of topics in Offshore Technology and Subsea Engineering that are of great relevance to the offshore oil and gas industry which span the design of facilities in shallow waters to challenges that are faced by engineers in developments in deep waters and in arctic conditions.

A student may choose to graduate with ONLY one of the following:

  • MSc (Offshore Technology)
  • MSc (Offshore Technology) with specialisation in Petroleum Engineering
  • MSc (Offshore Technology) with specialisation in Subsea Engineering

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants require a Bachelor’s degree with honours or equivalent, in a relevant discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree with a relevant Graduate Diploma/Graduate Certificate with a minimum CAP of 3.00. English Language Requirements: TOEFL score is required: 85 for the internet-based test (with a minimum score of 22 for the writing section); or 580 for the paper-based test; or 237 for the computer-based test; an IELTS score of 6.0.

For international students

Candidates who have completed a Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with at least a NUS BEng 2nd Class Honours, or its equivalent. Candidates with other qualifications and achievements deemed to be suitably prepared for the programme of study may also be considered. Candidates with relevant working experience will be considered favourably. Selection of students is on a competitive basis.
