What will I learn?

Manufacturing today is a web of global activities, encompassing a multitude of different manufacturing technologies, computer-based data flow and control, and the management of supply chain and logistics. Manufacturing is the main stay of most economies, including Singapore, where we seek to move towards high-value added activities. The availability of highly qualified manufacturing engineers and managers is essential to the sustenance of such an economy.

This programme aims to elevate the skills and knowledge of practising engineers and managers, to give them the edge in tackling modern manufacturing issues, from the inception of products through to the market place, focusing on modern manufacturing techniques and practices while providing sound grounding in the fundamental science and technology involved.

Students can expect to learn front-line manufacturing technologies and methodologies, and hear about real-life practices and the technologies in action from industry experts.

Focus Areas & Applications

This programme has been designed to satisfy this need by providing such professionals with in-depth knowledge of all these aspects of Manufacturing and Systems Engineering (MSE). Specific fields covered include computer networks, databases, advanced manufacturing technologies, corporate resource management, distributed and collaborative product development, system design, CAD/CAM, logistics and the role of e-commerce in manufacturing.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

An applicant must have completed at least a Bachelor Degree (Honors) or European/German FH Diploma or its equivalent in areas of Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a university with recognized standing with at least a 2nd Class Honors or equivalent. As the Programme instruction medium is English, applicant must be able to demonstrate a satisfactory level of the language. Applicant whose native tongue or medium of instruction from previous studies (Bachelor / FH Diploma) is not English must submit at least one of the following: TOEFL score indicating a minimum of 600 for Paper based test or 100 for internet based test; IELTS: With academic IELTS result of at least 6.5.

For international students

You need to have a good Bachelor degree.
