What will I learn?

Mechanical Engineering has been an important discipline in every industry. With the advent of the computer and information technology, mechanical engineering is now playing an even more important role in the development of many new areas, such as life science and micro/ nano technologies. The break through in these new technologies is often seen to rely on the support of mechanical engineering. Thus, there is an increasing demand for R&D engineers and managers who have strong background in mechanical engineering.

This MSc programme is specifically designed for graduate engineers, R&D engineers, scientists, researchers, and other related professionals who wish to equip themselves with more advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering to face the ever changing world.

Areas of Specialisation

Students may opt for either a general program of study, or a program with specialisation.

Singapore is one of the world’s premier ship repair and ship conversion centers, as well as the global leader in the building of jack-up rigs, semi-submersibles and Floating Production, Storage & Offloading conversion unit. This specialisation is aimed to meet the evolving technological and operational needs of the marine and offshore industry. It will equip MSc MECH graduates with the advanced principles and knowledge of NAME, to be knowledge leaders and potential researchers to meet technological advancement in NAME industries and to exploit modern science and technology as well as to innovate and create new product and solutions.

This MSc programme is specifically designed for graduate engineers, R&D engineers, scientists, researchers, and other related professionals who wish to equip themselves with more advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering to face the ever changing world. The MSc programme is offered by the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

An applicant must have completed at least a Bachelor Degree (Honors) or European/German FH Diploma or its equivalent in areas of Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a university with recognized standing with at least a 2nd Class Honors or equivalent. As the Programme instruction medium is English, applicant must be able to demonstrate a satisfactory level of the language. Applicant whose native tongue or medium of instruction from previous studies (Bachelor / FH Diploma) is not English must submit at least one of the following: TOEFL score indicating a minimum of 600 for Paper based test or 100 for internet based test; IELTS: With academic IELTS result of at least 6.5.

For international students

You need to have a good Bachelor degree.
