This degree programme covers weather and climate phenomena in all their dimensions, from the molecular to the global, from rapid developments to those which develop over millions of years.

The Master in Atmospheric and Climate Science is a 1½-year program that combines theory, tutorials and labs, seminars and field courses, adding up to 90 ECTS credits. The Master

Entry requirements

For students from United States

To be eligible for admission to a Master's degree programme at ETH Zurich you need to have a high-quality Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS or an equivalent first academic degree from an internationally recognized university. Other English language requirements: Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) - Required minimum C1 (grade C); required minimum C2 (grade C); Cambridge Advanced (CAE) - Required minimum C1 (grade B); CAE not recognized as level C2.

For international students

The students must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree from an internationally recognised university
  • The Bachelor's degree is based on at least three years of study (full-time equivalent) or 180 credits ECTS (European credit transfer system), respectively. 1 credit ECTS corresponds to a workload of 25-30 hours.
  • The Bachelor's degree qualifies the holder to enter, without additional requirements, Master's degree programs at a university within the education system where the Bachelor's degree was acquired.
