Years 1-3

In Year One, all the key themes of the programme are introduced, and you are given a thorough grounding in the subject areas you are to continue in later years. Year One also contains a key skills module for personal and academic development which falls within the Business Management Skills theme. In addition, you will learn two Finance modules, namely, Financial Accounting and Accountability, Numeracy, Statistical Analysis and Financial Literacy.

In Year Two you will continue to develop a deeper understanding of Business Management and finance related subjects and the discipline relevant research. Although still broad based, modules begin to become more focused and specialised within programme themes. In addition, you will learn two new Finance modules: Corporate Finance and Financial Markets and Institutions.

Year Three features modules that are increasingly advanced, allowing you more specialisation whilst maintaining a relatively broad spectrum across the discipline. In addition, you will learn two advanced Finance modules: Advanced Corporate Finance and Advanced Financial Markets and Institutions. The year is underpinned by a compulsory dissertation which allows you to investigate in depth an area of personal interest in business and finance.

Entry requirements

For international students

Typical offer: AAB-BBB

UK - 3 A Levels. Typical offer AAB-BBB. GCSE Mathematics at grade A and English at grade B required. General Studies not accepted as an A2 subject but a good performance may be taken into account if you fail to meet the conditions of your offer and have General Studies as a fourth A2.

International Baccalaureate Diploma - 6,6,5 at Higher Level with a minimum of 32 points overall.

India - AAA = 80% ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra or 80% West Bengal or 90% Other State boards. Mathematics must be taken with a A grade equivalency achieved.

Pakistan - The University will consider students who have taken A Level examinations and/or the International Baccalaureate (IB).

American System - Either a total of 3 distinct subject tests from APs and/or SAT subject tests or one year at a Community College or USA University.

English language requirements

  • IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any band
  • TOEFL: 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): PTE 59 in all four skills
  • Cambridge English: Advanced Minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component
  • EmSAT - 1,550-1,650
