Access qualifications provide an alternative route to University or Higher Education for students aged 19+. The Access to Higher Education Diploma in Computing is for students who have a keen interest in computing and a high level of commitment to studying this subject. One year's study provides students with an intensive introduction to the basic principles, concepts, and skills, both mathematical and computing, in a variety of areas of study including programming, hardware, web development, database development and networking. Progression to further study at Degree level is encouraged and is the normal expectation for students obtaining this award alternatively students may progress onto the HNC in Computing offered by Kingston College.

Progression Next Steps
Successful students will progress onto a variety of Degrees including computer science, software engineering, information systems, computer forensics, networking and security. Most universities require a minimum of 45 credits at Level 3 and many require some to be achieved at Merit or Distinction.
