What will I learn?

Gain practical skills in animal therapy, working with large and companion animals at ARU Writtle. Our BSc (Hons) Animal Therapy degree has a particular focus on horses and dogs. Youll learn from an experienced team of tutors including veterinary surgeons, nutrition and behaviour specialists, biomechanists, and staff qualified in veterinary physiotherapy, animal manipulation (McTimoney), massage and myofascial release. Writtle is the perfect place to get hands-on experience, with the campus being home to dedicated canine and equine therapy centres, a small animal unit and a working farm.As a BSc (Hons) Animal Therapy graduate, youll be able to apply for membership of the Animal Health Professions Register (AHPR).Our Animal Therapy degree runs alongside the MVetPhys Veterinary Physiotherapy course. You may have the opportunity to move on to the MVetPhys course at the end of your first year. To do this, youll need to achieve a 50% overall stage average and get a pass in both the equine and canine OSPE (practical exams).

Entry requirements

For international students

96 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent). 4 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English, Maths and Science. If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University. An International Baccalaureate with a minimum of 24 points. IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each element. TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.
