MSc Sport (Applied Sport Science) allows you to have a flexible focus on your own development within Applied Sports Science. With this in mind, the primary focus of course content relates to enhancing athletic performance based upon a mixture of established and contemporary methods.

At Worcester, our authentic assessments allow you to work directly with athletes for laboratory and field-based testing, and training interventions.

The course is delivered through a combination of intensive study weeks, weekly classes & seminars, placement learning, and independent study.

Assessment

The course provides opportunities to test understanding and learning informally through the completion of practice or ‘formative’ assignments.

Each module has one or more formal or ‘summative’ assessments which are graded and count towards the overall module grade. Assessment methods include a range of coursework assessments such as essays, reports, portfolios, performance, presentations and a final dissertation. The precise assessment requirements for an individual student in an academic year will vary according to the course selected.

Entry requirement for international students

You will normally have a 2:1 classification in a sport-related degree. Students who hold a sport-related degree classification 2:2 or below, or a non-sport related degree will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) – 52 or above or CEFR B2 or above. Cambridge First Certificate in English – Grade C or above with no skill less than D or 2; Pearson Test of English (Academic) – An overall score of 59 or above, with not less than 51 points in any of the 4 skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing).
