What will I learn?

This course provides you with a specialist vocational grounding in fine art and design practice. There is a strong emphasis on the development of both individual creative practice and an understanding of professional and employment-focused skills.

Course Overview

The programme gives you a higher level of contextual awareness of art and design practices. You will learn a wide range of practical in-demand vocational skills in art and design such as studio photography skills including advanced lighting techniques, digital workflow management, colour control, all using state-of-the-art software and hardware.

It will culminate in an end of year exhibition giving you the opportunity to showcase your work in a professional setting to members of the public and industry professionals.

You will have your own dedicated studio space to freely express ideas and concepts and undertake on the spot critical reviews of ideas, works and assessment. The course also comprises of practical workshops and demonstrations, lectures, guest lecturers, competitions, national and international visits and gallery visits.

There are a wide range of careers available in the creative industries you could become a Graphic Designer, Artist, Photographer, Illustrator, Textile Designer, Interior Designer, Fine Artist, Print Maker and Ceramic Designer.
