Key informationOn this course, you will explore key cancer hallmarks, risk factors, and breakthroughs in treatment, preparing you to make a real impact in biomedical science.Benefits of this courseYou will gain an in-depth understanding of the Hallmarks and Enabling Characteristics of Cancer. This includes looking at areas such as invasion and metastases, deregulating cell energetics, avoiding immune destruction and genome instability. We’ll also discuss how research can identify genetic, environmental, and behavioural risk factors.You have the opportunity to benefit from a research-driven environment where innovation is at the core. Our academics have led ground breaking advancements, from developing thalidomide analogues for cancer treatment to engineering cancer antibodies in plants and pioneering new therapies for advanced skin cancer.You will learn from leading experts in DNA replication and repair, oncogenic processes, and anti-cancer strategies, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the future of cancer research and treatment.

Entry requirements

For international students

You should have or be expected to achieve, a minimum of a second class degree (2:2). For healthcare graduates, a pass is required. All degrees must be awarded before 1 August on the year of entry.

We welcome applications from individuals from a range of backgrounds, including humanities, science and healthcare.
