What will I learn?

Computing underpins modern life, and the link between current research in computing and commercial product is critical to the continuing success of the IT industry. This course will equip you with the core technical and problem-solving skills to tackle current and emerging challenges in this crucial and fast-changing field.You will start with the fundamentals of programming and the underlying mathematical principles of computer science, before developing skills in software engineering and algorithm design and exploring challenges in mobile computing, robotics, and graphics that will shape the future. You’ll learn to work with state-of-the-art technologies and select optional modules that suit your interests and career plans, from cloud computing to bio-computation and machine learning.You’ll be taught by experts in world-class facilities and undertake project work in every year, to build the range of skills you’ll need throughout your professional career.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants will be required to achieve a minimum of 3 subjects in Advanced Placement (AP) or SATS with grades ranging between 4 and 5 or 650 and 750. Subject specific requirements will still apply. Combinations of APs and SATS are welcomed, however where there is a Mathematics A-level requirement, applicants are advised that AP Calculus BC will be required. SATR 1650 (550 in all 3 components) (old scores) Or SATR 1290 (650 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 620 in Maths) (new scores) Or ACT 26 in English. Minimum qualifications include: IELTS (International English Language Testing System) an overall band of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component skill.
