What will I learn?

On our Forensic Science (Foundation Entry) course youll get a grounding in the kinds of skills youll need if you want to become a forensic scientist or a crime scene investigator. Throughout your foundation year youll enhance your scientific knowledge and well teach you a wide range of practical laboratory techniques. Youll get insights into the world of forensic investigation, the management and processing of crime scenes, and analysing evidence in the laboratory. Foundation entry degree courses like this one are ideal if youve got the ability to study for a degree but you dont have the qualifications needed to directly enter the full honours degree programme. During the foundation year well equip you with the essential knowledge and understanding of theoretical and practical science skills youll need to succeed at degree level. When you progress to our full BSc (Hons) Forensic Science degree youll have access to some fantastic facilities, including our crime scene houses, a vehicle examination bay, and a blood spatter pattern analysis suite, further enhanced by purpose built facilities at our pioneering Lancashire Forensic Science Academy (LFSA) partnership.

UCAS: 64 points at A2 including Chemistry or Biology or Applied Science BTEC Extended Diploma: MPP including Science BTEC Diploma: MM International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 64 points from Higher Level subjects including Biology or Chemistry T Level: P (D or E) including Chemistry or Biology or Applied Science GCSEs: 5 at Grade C including Maths and English grade C/4 or equivalent IELTS - 6.0 with no component below 5.5 , TOEFL IBT - 80, Reading 10, Listening 10, Speaking 17, Writing 19, Pearson Test of English - Academic 61 with minimum of 59 in each component
