Geography and Medieval History MA (Hons)

UK

What will I learn?

Geography - Geography explores a fascinating range of important environmental and international phenomena including glaciers and ice ages; climate and weather; environmental change and management; population change, migration and border politics; urbanisation, development and geopolitical conflict; socio-spatial inequalities (widening gaps in wealth, health and wellbeing); and environmental economics. It provides an exciting challenge to those who wish to think critically and creatively about the world around them, and understand the interaction of environmental systems and human activity.

Mediaeval History - Mediaeval History will teach you to engage with sophisticated modes of thought and expression across mediaeval Europe and the Middle East. You will grapple with complex issues and gain a clear understanding of the historical background which underlies the present day. Students who study Mediaeval History will engage with a wide variety of historical issues and geographic locations to suit different interests, whether that be in early Islamic Iran, the Britons and Saxons, mediaeval political thought, or queenship.
