What will I learn?

Course highlights Research in Hispanic studies covers the history, literatures and cultures of Spain, Catalonia, the Hispanic Caribbean, Spanish America, Portugal and Brazil. Our research is interdisciplinary and includes expertise from Linguistics, Translation Studies and Film. We welcome research proposals that go beyond subject boundaries. You can be jointly supervised by an academic specialising in Hispanic studies and another from a different discipline, depending on your research interests. Research a range of cultural, literary, historical, and socio-political topics related to periods from the Middle Ages to the present day. Become part of one of the UK's largest academic communities of researchers exploring the European national cultures. With an extensive range of specialisms, we'll support you to contribute original research to the field of Hispanic Studies.

Entry requirements

For international students

For MRes and MA by Research programmes, we usually require a good (normally a 2:1 or above) Honours degree, or an equivalent qualification if you were educated outside the UK, usually in a relevant area.
